Advice for Road Runners: The Brooks Women's Glycerin 22 Running Shoes feature DNA Tuned cushioning. The midsole strikes a great balance between softness and energy return.
DNA Tuned consists of two types of nitrogen-infused foam. The heel section of the midsole features larger cells - offering an ultra-soft underfoot feel. In contrast, the forefoot section features smaller cells - delivering greater energy return.
For heel-to-midfoot strikers, the midsole should deliver soft landings, followed by energetic take-offs.
It's worth noting that the Brooks Glycerin 22 midsole is not as thick as the Brooks Glycerin Max midsole. The Glycerin 22 outsole also features more horizontal flex grooves, so the midsole should feel more flexible underfoot.
