From HOKA

Advice for Trail Runners: The HOKA Women's Speedgoat 6 Trail Running Shoes offer amazing comfort and grip. This is why the Speedgoat are one of the most popular trail running shoes.

The outsole should feel comfortable on compact ground, and then ultra-grippy on technical surfaces. This is because the HOKA Speedgoat 6 Running Shoes feature a Vibram® MegaGrip with Traction Lug outsole, with 5 mm lugs.

To explain further, it's unlikely you'll be overly aware of the lugs on firm ground. However, when you hit looser surfaces, the lugs will dig in and provide traction. As the outsole design is also inspired by the hoof of a goat, it should adapt very well to uneven ground.

The light and responsive foam should help you to maintain your pace on loose surfaces. It offers ample protection for longer distances on firm ground.
