From Nike

The Vaporfly 4 is a lean, efficient, distance-conquering racing shoe. Weight has been reduced across the midsole, outsole, and upper compared to the Vaporfly 3, whilst maintaining the performance standards elite runners demand. The result is a lighter, more propulsive all-round racer trusted from the mile through to the marathon.

A full-length carbon-fibre Flyplate creates a propulsive racing sensation with every stride. An increased plate angle and reduced heel-to-toe drop compared to the Vaporfly 3 deliver an improved forward drive that rewards efficient running form. The characteristic rolling, propulsive feel that made the Vaporfly iconic is now sharper and more pronounced.

Nike's most responsive foam runs continuously from heel to toe, returning more energy than the previous version thanks to a refined midsole reduction. The result is a bouncy, featherlight sensation underfoot that keeps legs feeling capable deep into races when maintaining pace demands everything you have.

Engineered mesh delivers a barely-there sensation whilst providing a consistent, comfortable fit throughout race efforts. Reduced heel and tongue dimensions trim additional grams without compromising structure or security. The midsole geometry bulges outward at the heel—a deliberate design choice reducing weight on the foot's inside whilst maintaining a stable ride. Thinner rubber on the outsole sheds further weight without sacrificing reliability underfoot.
