HOKA Mafate 5 - Technical Trail Performance with Maximum Protection

A pinnacle product for technical trail running, the Mafate 5 delivers more cushioning and protection than ever before. Built tough for mileage chasers, this tenacious trail runner helps you maintain control during long-haul efforts with Rocker Integrity Technology and protects from trail debris with optional ankle gaiter attachment. Finished with soft, springy foam just underfoot and impact-absorbing foam near the sole, the Mafate 5 is grounded in aggressive Vibram® Megagrip traction lugs. In a word: gnarly.

Rocker Integrity Technology reinforces the MetaRocker™ to tackle uneven terrain, delivering a steady, balanced ride even when the trail gets rough. This enhanced rocker system helps you navigate technical sections with confidence, maintaining momentum across roots, rocks, and variable surfaces.

A dual-density midsole features a super critical foam top layer that provides soft, springy cushioning, whilst impact-absorbing foam near the sole protects against harsh trail surfaces. This layered construction offers both comfort for long efforts and protection when terrain gets aggressive.
